Each year, Residential Land donates a substantial contribution to the Savitri Waney Charitable Trust, a trust committed to enhancing the lives of people in some of the poorest regions in India.
Setup in 2001 by Mr. Arjun Waney, and named after his mother, Savitri, the trust supports projects throughout India and establishes health and education services to those in need throughout rural India.
Recently, Residential Land assisted a Savitri Trust partner charity called Second Sight, where the funds were sent to a remote rural hospital called GEMS in the south of Bihar state.
India is home to over 15 million blind people, Bihar alone has 1 million people affected by cataracts due to poverty, illiteracy and lack of healthcare institutions. The charity Second Sight assists the GEMS hospital, providing volunteer surgeons from India and the UK.
Our donation was used to fund critical eye surgeries to those who would usually have no access to such treatments.
