Residential Land are proud supporters of The Katie Piper Foundation, an incredible charity setup by Katie Piper to help and support people suffering from severe burns and scars.
The charity grew from her Katie’s own experience as a burns survivor and aims to progress extended rehabilitation and scar management for burns survivors, to campaign for consistent clinical care and to develop a support network for people living with burns and disfigurement. The Foundation would eventually like to open an advanced rehabilitation and burns clinic in the UK providing residential facilities for patients, enabling them to benefit fully from treatments and from social interaction with other survivors.
On 1st September 2011, the Katie Piper Foundation hosted its first “My Beautiful Ball” at the Savoy Hotel in London. Diana Yukawa opened the event with a piece of music from her last album and Simon Cowell, who is a patron of the Foundation hosted the evening. Guests throughout the evening included Rebecca Ferguson, Leona Lewis and Paul Martin.
As part of My Beautiful Ball, a fantastic raffle and auction were held to raise money for this amazing charity and lots were generously donated by various sources and included two VIP passes to Silverstone, a week’s villa holiday in Portugal for six people, a family visit to Lapland, Belgium Grand Prix picture, signed by Michael Schumacher, Nigel Mansell, and Riccardo Patrese, Sir Paul McCartney; paintings – signed book and many more with the lots generously donated by various sources.
The evening was a great success raising over £100,000 for the charity.
