Raffingers Foundation was set up by Raffingers chartered certified accountants in 2016, to help those affected by pancreatic and ovarian cancer.
The foundation was established in honour of Jason Kew – a much-loved friend of Raffingers who lost his life to pancreatic cancer – and family members of Raffingers employees who have been taken by ovarian cancer.
The survival rates are particularly stark when it comes to these types of cancer; only 4% of pancreatic cancer patients and 46% of ovarian cancer patients survive for more than 5 years.
Since 2016, the Raffingers Foundation has raised £5766 for pancreatic and ovarian cancer patients and their families. The funds are channelled into research projects carried out by the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund and Ovarian Cancer Action, as well as to families affected by pancreatic or ovarian cancer who are experiencing financial difficulties to help with costs such as private counselling for any family members, training and equipment.
Raffingers Foundation raises money by participating in an action-packed programme of events including the London Marathon, Brentwood’s Nuclear Races and golfing. There are also fun-filled office-based fundraising days in which Raffingers staff dress up as superheroes or in Christmas jumpers.
In September 2017, Raffingers will be hosting their Charity Ball – an event in which we are proud to announce our involvement and support. Raffingers Foundation is an excellent cause that Residential Land could not be prouder to be associated with.
