We are pleased to announce that Palace Wharf, our latest riverside development in Fulham, is finished. Mixing the old with the new and industrial chic exteriors with state of the art interiors, it clearly stands apart from the more generic developments that have crept up along the river.
Industrial chic
Reflective of the delicate balance between the property’s rich past and the desire for luxury living is the installation of double-glazed Crittal windows – looking exactly like the original steel-framed windows while keeping out the noise and cold far more efficiently.
The three original sections of Palace Wharf, namely blocks A, B and C, were built in 1907 and were used for importing marble. It’s river frontage was originally used for offloading the imported marble from boats making deliveries along the river.

In all the properties there is an abundance of natural light which is one of the reasons that head of lettings, Stuart Birke, finds Palace Wharf so appealing. If you look carefully no shortcuts have been taken, the skirting, the architrave, the coving, the lighting, it’s all very nicely finished. We ensure both our materials and workmanship are of the highest quality.”
In addition, all flats have been fitted out with the latest mod cons. Miele wine coolers and built-in bean to cup coffee machines come as standard. With our in-house audio visual consultants, TV, music and intercom all work seamlessly and unobtrusively. Air con is also discreetly placed in the walls, with both cool and warm air. The showers have been fitted with Hansgrohe shower heads, the kind you would expect to find in a luxury hotel.
Architectural footprint
Residential Land’s development director, Michael Hughes, is especially pleased with how well the townhouses harmonise with the original structure.
He says, “As a new build there is quite an industrial look to them: they are very cubist in the way they address the river frontage which is quite unusual down here. The Barratt’s site up towards Hammersmith has a much more recognisable large-scale residential look to it. What we’ve delivered here is something that will stand out, that will provoke comment and will make people think about architecture.”
He continues, “The townhouses are clad in copper which will mean there will be an ever-changing vista as the copper starts to green, so I’m quite excited to see how they will look in a few years’ time.
